Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Turn off your Boiler and allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes
Replace the Boiler air filter if dirty as poor airflow causes high limit trips
Check that all Boiler supply registers are fully open and not blocked
Verify the Boiler blower motor is operating at the correct speed
Call for Boiler service if the high limit continues to trip after addressing airflow
