Should I leave my boiler on all the time?

Modern boilers are most efficient when maintaining a consistent temperature rather than reheating from cold. The boiler works harder to bring the system up to temperature.

Use a programmable thermostat to lower temperatures at night or when away, but avoid completely shutting the system down. A 3–5°C setback is ideal.

In freezing weather, never turn your boiler off completely. Frozen pipes can burst, causing extensive water damage.
