Why is my boiler pilot light going out?
A boiler pilot light that keeps going out usually indicates a faulty thermocouple, draft issues, or a gas supply problem. The thermocouple is the most common cause.
The thermocouple senses whether the pilot flame is lit. If it's dirty, worn, or positioned incorrectly, it shuts off the gas supply even when the pilot is burning.
A draft near the boiler can blow out the pilot light. Check for drafty doors or windows near your boiler location.
If you have a newer boiler with electronic ignition, the issue is different — it could be a faulty ignitor, flame sensor, or gas valve.
